The Unakki Coffee Collective came together with the simple yet, potentially lofty aim of creating better coffee through improved post harvest processing and giving recognition to the planters they work with in the Joldal-Palya region of Chikmagalur. Rakhee and Kathyayini started with speciality coffee in 2020 and they work with a few small holder farms from their region. A big shoutout to our friend, the brilliant Binny Varghese AKA “Barista on Bike” for the work that he has done alongside the Unakki Coffee Collective team to process these coffees, and make them taste so great.
Having sampled, really loved but failed to get their coffee last year, we were determined to get our hands on some of their lots this year! Agni is an anaerobic fermented naturals that was one our favourite natural coffees we tasted this year. This light roast is super fruity with notes of Pineapple, Vanillla and Caramel and a syrupy body. It tastes great as a filter and once dialed in, it makes some incredible espresso!
